CASTING CALL: Sample Size Feet
WHO WE NEED
We need people who fit sample size shoes for a photoshoot for CAT Footwear.
Requirements: We’re looking for people age 18+ of all genders who:
Fit “men’s” size 9 shoes (wears size 8-10); or
Fit “women’s” size 7 shoes (wears size 6-8)
You must be able to safely + comfortably walk and pose in the sizes listed. You will be modeling with your full body, but wearing a sample size shoe!
What’s Sample Size? Sample sizes are the industry standard sizes for footwear prototypes. Since this photoshoot is happening before production of the full footwear line, the samples are the only size shoes available for models to wear during the shoot.
We acknowledge this area of the industry needs vast improvement, and are committed to advocating for change. We apologize for the lack of inclusivity in this regard.
Bonus Points: We’re especially interested in people who also fit one or more of the following criteria (not required):
Have dance/movement training
Have a unique personal style and enjoy expressing themselves through fashion
Have tattoos, unique hairstyles, or other edgy/alternative looks
Identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color)
Identify as plus-size
Identify as queer and/or genderqueer
You don’t need any professional modeling experience to apply. You should feel comfortable on camera and be good at taking direction.

Accessibility: There will be some physical movement required, including standing on tabletops and posing in dynamic positions. You will be standing for long periods (1 hour or more). No lifting required. to apply, you should be able to safely get up and down from a table and hold modeling poses.

PROJECT INFORMATION
ADVERTISER: CAT Footwear
TYPE: Commercial photoshoot
SUMMARY: People wearing work boots on job sites (construction/warehouse). No work experience required, the focus is on modeling/fashion.
UNION STATUS: Non-Union
PHOTOGRAPHER: Aaron Hewitt (do not contact)
PRODUCER: Amber Geiger (do not contact)
SHOOT LOCATION: Portland, OR area. We are only hiring talent who live in Oregon or Washington for this project. We will not hire anyone who needs to fly in for the shoot (no exceptions).
DATES: Please do not apply if you have any immovable conflicts on the dates listed below.
SHOOT DATES: Wed 5/12 - Sun 5/16 (1 day, TBD)
If hired, you will be hired for a specific date chosen by the production company; we cannot take your schedule preferences into consideration. So, you must be able to make yourself available for all listed dates. Your schedule should be flexible enough to clear an entire day with only a few days’ notice. Please do not request work off or clear your schedule unless requested to do so via email (we will give you as much notice as possible).
PAY IF HIRED:
Shoot: $1200 for one shoot day (up to 10 hours)
Travel: For talent based more than 100 miles from Portland: production will provide mileage reimbursement (up to $175). No lodging available. (Oregon/Washington talent only)
Pay includes your hours worked and the usage of your image by the advertiser.
Talent agents: 20% agency fee available on all rates.
USAGE: 2 years Global Unlimited
HIRING REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18+, live in Oregon or Washington, and be legally eligible to work in the US. Must comply with COVID19 protocols.
COVID19 CONSIDERATIONS: Please only apply if you would feel safe working during COVID19 given the information below.
The casting process will be 100% remote. There will be no in-person auditions or callbacks.
All cast + crew will be tested for COVID19 before the shoot (at no cost to you). Hiring is contingent upon negative test results. Production will follow all CDC and OMPA guidelines and you will be asked to sign this Health & Safety Agreement.
Note that as models, you will sometimes be asked to remove your mask, for active photography and makeup application. You will be in a group scene with 1-2 other models.
CASTING PROCESS

You will be asked to upload photos and answer some questions about yourself. Please gather the following photos in advance (cell phone shots are fine).
(1) Face Photo
Not a Headshot. Recent color photo of your face. Current Hairstyle. No hats/sunglasses. No snapchat filters. Selfies are fine!
(1) Full Body Photo
Recent color photo showing your body type (no group shots)
(2+) Style Photos
Photos showing a strong sense of style. These can be casual snapshots showing your personal flare/fashion, or photos from your modeling portfolio (if the wardrobe was trendy/fashionable). Different outfits for each photo.
(3+) Movement Photos
Photos showing you moving your body. Dance, sports, dynamic modeling poses, or anything else that shows you have good coordination and are comfortable in your body.
Optional: Additional Style/Movement Photos, Your Headshot
Please upload as many photos as possible! The more photos, the better your chances of being hired!
