WHO WE NEED
We need hikers and climbers in the Lake Tahoe area for a video shoot for The North Face.
We’re looking for:
Hikers: all skill levels (age 16+) All identities, but we're especially interested in plus-size, queer, and/or BIPOC talent. Beginners welcome if you are comfortable in nature.
Rock Climbers: intermediate/advanced (age 16+). All identities, but we're especially interested in women, queer, and/or BIPOC talent.
No professional acting/modeling experience is needed to apply. You should feel comfortable on camera and be good at taking direction.
People of all identities (races, sizes, physical abilities, genders, sexualities, religions, ethnicities, countries of origin, and more) who fall within the given parameters are welcome and encouraged to apply. If you have a talent agent you must be submitted directly by your agency, do not submit through this casting call.
PROJECT INFORMATION
ADVERTISER: The North Face
TYPE: Video+Stills
UNION STATUS: Non-Union
SHOOT LOCATION: Lake Tahoe, CA
You must live within 200 miles of Lake Tahoe to apply (including Reno, SF Bay area, Sacramento, etc). Mileage/lodging reimbursement is available, but we will not book talent who need to fly in for the shoot. Please o not submit if you do not meet these requirements.
SHOOT DATES: Sun 6/26 - Fri 7/1 (Most likely Mon 6/27 but you should be flexible in this range to apply).
Please do not apply if you have immovable conflicts on the shoot dates listed. Please do not request work off or clear your schedule unless requested to do so via email (we will give you as much notice as possible).
PAY IF HIRED:
$1,000 flat (includes 1 shoot day up to 12 hours, 1 hour fitting on a previous day, and the use of your image by the advertiser
Mileage/lodging reimbursement available for talent who live 100-200 miles from Lake Tahoe.
Talent agents: +20% available on all listed rates.
USAGE TERMS: 1 year all media excluding broadcast, no exclusivity. Archival social in perpetuity.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS: Must be age 16+ and be legally eligible to work in the US. Must comply with all COVID19 protocols. Must be fully vaccinated or willing to take a PCR test, pending medical/religious exemptions. Must meet location requirements.
COVID19 CONSIDERATIONS: The casting process will be 100% remote. There will be no in-person auditions or callbacks. Please only apply if you would feel safe working during COVID19 given the information below. Please note these policies are determined by the production company, who is the official employer.
All talent must be fully vaccinated or willing to take a PCR test to be hired.
Note that as on-camera talent, you will sometimes be required to remove your mask, for active photography and makeup application. You may be in a group scene.
HOW TO APPLY
You will need the following materials (cell phone photos/videos are fine).
(1) Headshot This does not have to be a professional photo. Any recent, nice quality photo. No hats, sunglasses, or filters. Color Photo.
(1) Selfie (from today) showing your current hairstyle. Minimal makeup (if any), hair down. No hats, sunglasses, or filters. Color Photo.
(1) Full Body Photo (taken today) Current photo showing your body type. Solo photo, no other people in the image.
(3-6) Action Photos/Videos
Climbers: Video strongly preferred. Existing clips of you climbing, especially any dynos or difficult holds. Bouldering preferred. Climbing photos are also great.
Hikers: Photos of you hiking or photos of you in nature are preferred if available. If you don't have any, any casual snapshots showing your personality and style. Variety is important, so if you're going to go out to take some new photos, please also upload a mix of existing photos, so it's not a stream of photos from the same trail.

If you have a talent agent, it is mandatory to list your agency on your application. If you have a profile, please log in and make sure your agency is correct before applying.
You will need to include your North Face sizes in your application. Please visit https://www.thenorthface.com/help/sizing-charts.html and look up your jacket and pant sizes in advance. All sizes welcome, please apply even if you do not see your size represented.
