WHO WE NEED
We need hikers for a photo + video shoot for Merrell. We’re looking for people 18+ who enjoy hiking and would be comfortable hiking in the snow (easy/moderate trails).
You don’t need to be an expert hiker to apply! We’re looking for people who feel at home in nature, but no specific skill level is required.
We’re especially interested in representing BIPOC, LGBTQ+, plus size, and/or disabled people in this shoot. It’s important to us to consciously expand the types of people who are represented in outdoor sports.
You don’t need any professional modeling experience to apply. You should feel comfortable on camera and be good at taking direction.
People of all identities (races, sizes, abilities, genders, sexualities, religions, ethnicities, countries of origin, and more) who fall within the given parameters are welcome and encouraged to apply. We are committed to representing authentic diversity across all projects.

PROJECT INFORMATION
ADVERTISER: Merrell
TYPE: Commercial photo + video shoot.
UNION STATUS: Non-Union
PRODUCTION COMPANY: Amber Geiger Productions
SHOOT LOCATION: Mount Hood area, Oregon. The shoot will be on snow-covered trails. You must currently live in Oregon or Washington to apply.
SHOOT DATES: 1 day, between Feb 21-Mar 6. Exact date TBD. Shoot will be on a weekday to avoid crowded trails.
Please do not apply if you have immovable schedule conflicts on these dates. You should be flexible enough to clear an entire day with just a few days’ notice.
FITTING DATES: If hired, you will be required to attend a wardrobe fitting the day before the shoot in Portland, OR (exact date TBD).
PAY IF HIRED:
$1000 for one day of shooting
$75 for a 1-2 hour fitting
$75 mileage stipend for traveling to the shoot location. No lodging available.
Pay includes your hours worked and the usage of your image by the advertiser.
If you are represented by a talent agent, these rates are inclusive of their fees and you will need to make arrangements with them for their commission. You must disclose your agency on your submission form if you are represented.
USAGE: 2 years global unlimited
HIRING REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18+ and be legally eligible to work in the US.
COVID19 CONSIDERATIONS: The casting process will be 100% remote. There will be no in-person auditions or callbacks for this project.
Please only apply if you would feel safe working during COVID19. It is your choice whether to apply for this project based on your individual risk factors. If you are not comfortable working during this time, your consideration for future projects will not be affected.
If you are selected for this project, we will share a comprehensive list of COVID19 protocols that you will have time to review the protocols before accepting the gig. All cast + crew must test negative for COVID19 before the shoot. The production company will arrange testing on your behalf if hired.
Note that as models, you will sometimes be asked to remove your mask (for active filming and for makeup application). For this shoot, all locations will be outdoors.
CASTING PROCESS

You will be asked to upload photos and answer some questions about your hiking experience. Please gather the following photos in advance (cell phone shots are fine).
Recent color photos of your face and full body (professional headshots not required). Full body shot in hiking clothes if available.
(4+) Photos of you hiking/adventuring in nature. These should be existing photos from your life.
(3+) Additional photos of you: modeling photos, casual snapshots, your city/street style
Please upload as many photos as possible! The more photos, the better your chances of being hired!
DEADLINE TO APPLY: We are accepting self-tapes on a rolling basis until otherwise noted.

NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT: By applying for this project, you agree not to mention your involvement in the project, nor disclose to outside parties any details regarding the advertiser, product, or shoot that may be shared during the casting process. Violation of the NDA may result in termination and/or legal action.
