WHO WE NEED
We’re casting expert skiers for a photo/video project for Columbia Sportswear.
We’re open to alpine skiers age 18+ who live in the Western United States (Pacific + Mountain time zones).
Qualifications: We need confident, expert rippers who are skiing as many days as possible every winter. The people we seek hate to miss a deep powder day and feel comfortable bouncing around in 12” of new snow. They often hike or traverse to get the better snow and are under complete control skiing in the trees. If someone throws a snowball on a really steep slope, they’ll be able to make a turn on that snowball and appear to be having a great time.
Must have experience with one or more of the following:
Competing (Freeride, Racing, Freestyle, Big Air)
Backcountry
Ski Level: Expert or Professional
We are looking for serious, highly-skilled skiers only. Experience being filmed is strongly preferred. You must be able to:
Hit specific marks with precision
Demonstrate impeccable control in a steep descent
Take direction for specific actions
(Big air a definite plus)
Submissions including video will be given priority. Show us your best line. If you don’t have a reel, just send video of a run.

PROJECT INFORMATION
ADVERTISER: Columbia Sportswear
TYPE: Photo and video shoot
UNION STATUS: Non-Union
SHOOT LOCATION: The crew will travel to your home mountain to film you. Must live in a Western US state - California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming.
DATES: February 2021, exact dates TBD. If hired, you would be needed for 1-3 days.
Please do not apply if you have immovable conflicts or are generally unavailable during these dates.
PAY IF HIRED: $1500 per day ($1500-$3000 total). Pay includes your hours worked and the use of your likeness by the advertiser.
If you are represented by a registered talent agent, an additional 20% is available for their commission on all listed rates. You must list your agency name & contact information on your submission form if applicable.
USAGE: All media except broadcast (Print, OOH, Digital, Ecomm, in-store & POP). Global, in Perpetuity.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in the US.
Cannot currently play (or plan to play) on any NCAA sports teams.
US-residents only. Must live in a Western US state (California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Washington, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, Nevada) at the time of filming. While we wish we could consider everyone, geographical constraints are in place for the safety of our crew (to minimize travel during COVID).
Must disclose any existing sponsorships or contracts with athletic apparel brands.
COVID19 CONSIDERATIONS: The casting process will be 100% remote (no in-person auditions). The filming crew will be 2-4 people.
It is your choice whether to work during COVID19 based on your own risk factors. Extensive safety measures will be in place on set. If hired, the full protocols will be shared with you prior to accepting the gig. You may be required to test negative for COVID19 before the shoot. Hiring is contingent upon your responses to screening questions about your COVID19 symptoms and exposure.
Applicants who share a COVID19 pod will be considered as groups.
CASTING PROCESS

We strongly prefer you include video of yourself skiing in your application. File uploads are preferable to links. Please collect those in advance of applying.
