What is casting? We find actors and models for photo + video projects. We work on a wide variety of projects including commercials, photoshoots, and independent films. It’s never boring, we can promise you that!

About This Position

Qualifications: Administration (office work) and customer service experience are required. Film industry experience/education is preferred. Casting experience is a bonus but not required.

Schedule: We have ongoing opportunities for freelance and part-time staff. We are not currently hiring for full-time positions. We work primarily Monday-Friday, and need candidates with weekday availability.

Location: Remote / Portland Oregon.

Most of our work is from home, with in-person needs up to a few times per month. We prefer to hire local candidates, but we’re open to anyone.

Starting Pay: $20/hr

Responsibilities

We’re a small business, so your responsibilities will change from day to day. However, your primary areas of focus will be: 

Customer service

We interact with a high volume of people across many different identities, and need team members who are patient and friendly. You will regularly: 

  • Monitor customer inquiries (email, text, social media)

  • Answer questions from actors/models about casting projects

  • Help solve technical issues 

Streetcasting

Streetcasting means looking outside typical channels to find talent who have specific skills and/or identities. Examples of past categories include beekeepers, queer couples, BIPOC athletes, and disabled kids. As a streetcaster, you’ll: 

  • Research groups and organizations to find people based on skill/identity

  • Outreach via email, text, phone, and social media. 

  • Manage research leads and track outreach efforts in spreadsheets.

Casting Sessions

We occasionally hold live Zoom casting sessions. In the future, we will resume live studio casting sessions. To help with those, you will:

  • Check-in talent for auditions

  • Manage data & media files

  • Set up lights & equipment

Growth Opportunities

For senior positions, we prefer to promote from within. As a casting assistant, you have the opportunity to grow into a role as a Casting Associate. Those duties include:

  • Directing talent for auditions

  • Client relations 

  • Project management

  • Supervising assistants
